Well, congratulations to us! We have been voted by the judges as Regional Winners for the Top of the South Island for the 2008 Monteith's Wild Food Festival. This is a big deal to us, and we are proud as punch to have the opportunity to go through to the national finals! The competition and judging is now all over, the dishes are no longer available, but we will leave this up for a little while for those that are interested......

Course 1: The Hungry Bushman

Venison Carpaccio rubbed with horopito & kelp on watercress salad with crispy capers & kumara wafers, drizzled with raspberry infused vinaigrette.

Kangaroo wrapped in Australian Proscuitto with alpine pepper on pumpkin, macadamia & wattle-seed tartlet with buttered vegetables, vanilla infused game jus & blueberry reduction.
